Pebble Learning launch their latest book 'Pebblegogy' - technology meets pedagogy
Pebble Learning, founders of online Personal Learning Space PebblePad, announce the launch of their latest book, Pebblegogy.

Shane Sutherland, Director of Pebble Learning and one of the book's authors, explains, "The title of the book was chosen to reflect the pedagogical foundation of PebblePad. In Pebblegogy we aim to help tutors and learning designers create meaningful activities that will support their curricula."

A companion website is also being developed which will supplement the activities described in the book and will offer further ideas to inspire and engage learners.

The first half of Pebblegogy provides the most detailed explanation yet of what PebblePad is, what it stands for, and why it works the way it does.

PebblePad has now been used for over six years by more than 100 organisations and the second half of the book presents a rich collection of learning designs resulting from the contributions and collaborations of more than 40 practitioners from the UK and Australia. Each of the activities described is accompanied by guidelines usage covering, for example, tutor complexity, student's ability to use PebblePad and recommended number of students participating.

The extensive work covers:
First steps with PebblePad
Orientation and induction
Planning personal and professional development
Developing academic study skills
Promoting group work
Experiential learning
Collaborative learning
Self and peer review
Preparing for accreditation
Preparing for employment
Learning for the workplace
Action planning and project managing

The book is available from Amazon (under 5 copies) or direct from Pebble Learning (over 5 copies) orders@pebblelearning.co.uk. Cover price: £25.
